Video Contest Entry Details

1. Video Entries:

All videos must be submitted to Youth Science Ontario using the following criteria:

  • Videos must be uploaded to YouTube. The title should include “2012-Sceince Can Fix That”.
  • Each contestant, or team, is required to complete and submit an entry form.
  • Click on the panel at the left to download an entry form.  The name and the signature of a parent or a guardian must be included on the form along with all the other information. Scan or e-mail the form to cloos@youthscienceontario.ca or fax to 1-888-876-5055.
  • If the video submission meets all the rules and regulations, Youth Science Ontario will add it to our YouTube channel.

2. Closing Date:

To be eligible, entries must be received by 11 pm on March 31, 2012.

3. Judging Criteria:

Entries will be judged on:

  • Originality
  • Creative imagination
  • Scientific truths and relevance of ideas
  • Ability to inspire
  • Adherence to the contest rules

4. Prizes:

$250 in cash and prizes. If 2 people create the video, each person will receive $125.   These prizes must be accepted as awarded and have no cash value, nor are they transferable or refundable. There will be no substitutions, except at the discretion of Youth Science Ontario. The odds of winning are dependent on the total number of eligible entries received.

5. Winners:

Contest winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail by 5 pm April 30, 2012. Before being declared a winner of any prize, winning entrants will be required to sign a Declaration and Release Form confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prizes as awarded, and releasing Youth Science Ontario and its affiliated agencies from any and all liability in connection with the prizes or this contest. Declaration and Release Forms must be returned within the time period specified on the form in order to collect any prize.
