Exciting New Partnership with Let’s Talk Science

Youth Science Ontario enthusiastically announces a partnership with Let’s Talk Science!  Let’s Talk Science is an award-winning, national, charitable science outreach organization that creates and delivers science learning programs for children and youth.

“Let’s Talk Science is dedicated to improving science literacy in Canada,” says Bonnie Schmidt, PhD, President and Founder, Let’s Talk Science. “This exciting new partnership with Youth Science Ontario allows us to continue to build youth engagement and interest in inquiry-based science and innovation. It is increasingly critical for organizations to work together in order to engage more youth.”

The main focus for Youth Science Ontario will always be supporting Ontario’s regional science fairs; however, we are looking to expand youth science through outreach events such as the Innovations Expo and Science Olympics programs.  Our new partnership with Let’s Talk Science will allow our Innovation Expo program to reach the Ontario classroom.  Other opportunities for collaboration exist.  For example, young scientists may be able to contribute to CurioCity.ca, an interactive website where visitors can explore and discover the science, engineering and technology that affects our daily lives.

Let’s Talk Science coordinators and volunteers will be bringing their outreach expertise to presenting Innovation Expos in various sites across Ontario in 2011-2012.  With an Innovation Expo event taking place as soon as December 18th in Hamilton, Youth Science Ontario’s partnership with Let’s Talk Science is set to flourish well into the future.
