FIRST Robotics Canada

FIRST Robotics Canada (formerly known as Canadian Association for Student Robotics) was established in 2001 to meet the growing need for student robotics programs in Canada. Highly successful competitions have taken place in Toronto since 2002, and in 2005 an additional competition was added at the University of Waterloo. In connection with these events, FIRST Robotics Canada carries out team recruitment and support, competition and non-competition event planning, sponsorship coordination and fundraising. It runs training sessions and arranges for ongoing team mentoring by industry representatives throughout the year. It also recruits a wide range of the 140 volunteers required in running the events.

FIRST Robotics Canada offers 3 competition types:

  • FIRST Robotics Competition (high school)
  • FIRST Tech Challenge (high school)
  • FIRST LEGO League (ages 6-14)
