Science Expo was founded in 2010 by five individuals who met at the 2009 Canada Wide Science Fair and wanted to encourage more students to get involved in STEM opportunities. Two months later, the first Science Expo, a 2-hour symposium, was held in a Guelph, Ontario high school auditorium. It attracted over 200 students, parents, and teachers, and featured astrophysicist and science fair guru Dr. Mubdi Rahman as the keynote speaker.

Sandra Dusolt of Neebing, Ontario represented the nation in the annual European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) between September 23-28.  Her project, “No power, no water, no food, no problem!” was one of 87 projects entered by the over 130 participants representing 37 countries from across the world.

Congratulations to Tony Kwon from London, Ontario (4th from the left in photo) for being choosen as one of this year's Top 20 Under Twenty by Youth in Motion. Tony celebrated his award at the 7th Annual Top 20 Under Twenty Week held in Toronto early this June.

Five Ontario students won medals at the 2010 International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, and Environmental Project (I-SWEEEP) Olympiad in Houston Texas.
