Chen Sun, a grade 12 student at A.B. Lucas secondary school in London, Ontario is the recipient of a 4-year scholarship to Cambridge University in England. The scholarship is offered by the Blyth Academy in Toronto and is worth about $170,000.
Dr. Patrick Whippey, Youth Science Ontario Board of Directors’ Vice Chair, has worked with Chen at science fairs since he was in middle school. Chen has also participated in the Canada-Wide Science Fair and International Science and Engineering Fair.
“Cambridge is the birthplace of modern science,” Chen said. “It is a real honour.”
Chen was a member of Team Ontario in 2006 when, as a Junior, he won a Silver medal in Physical and Mathematical Science and the Canadian Association of Physicists Physics Prize.
